If your best friend lives in another state and you cannot simply swing by to tell her the great news, make sure you call her before posting something on social media. They will determine the carat and value of your engagement ring and give you a dollar amount as to what it is worth. This is definitely going to be needed for your insurance company in case anything happens to the ring and you need to replace it. It isn't the most enjoyable process, but it is all part of being a grown up and taking care of business!
Next, get a manicure! Totally splurge and let a professional make your hands (and toes) look their best! Everyone is going to want to see your engagement ring, so you need to make sure your cuticles are cut and you have no hang nails. Heaven forbid your jagged cuticles upstage your gorgeous diamond engagement ring!
